Holy Thursday – Mass of the Lord’s Supper at St. James Cathedral

April 16, 1992

Archbishop Murphy urges all God’s children to imitate Jesus Christ’s commitment to a ministry of service, giving and concern for others in his homily delivered at a Holy Thursday Mass celebrated in St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA. In his view, to be Christian means to dedicate yourself to a life of service. He calls all present to share their gifts with others. “… it is our lives which need to be broken and poured out for others,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Eucharist announces this evening and to all people that self-service is not service.”
