Feast of St. Pius X – First Mass as Archbishop in St. James Cathedral

The Feast of St. Pius X marks the first occasion of the Most Reverend Thomas J. Murphy celebrating Mass as the Archbishop of Seattle. Archbishop Murphy uses this occasion to communicate his vision for the future as the leader of the Church of Western Washington. He invokes the motto of St. Pius X – to renew all things in Christ. “To renew all things in Christ is to be committed to justice and peace, to seek out those marginalized by our society or our Church, to promote the value of life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death,” said Archbishop Murphy.
