Go west, young man

An appreciation of Native American tribes is the subject of Archbishop Murphy’s weekly “In Joy and Hope” column for the Catholic Northwest Progress. He shares how moving West from Chicago to serve as the Bishop of Great Falls, MT opened his eyes to the presence and giftedness of the Native American people. “Native American people gave me a new insight into the meaning of ‘sacred’ time and space,” said Archbishop Murphy. “In so many instances, I was asked to put on a new ‘lens’ through which I could have a different perspective to much which I took for granted.”
